November 4 – Jack and Diane

November 4 is Election Day in America. Admittedly, it’s just local and state elections, but the last few years has shown that every election is important. We made it a point to make sure that Zoe registered to vote in advance. Last Saturday, on her 18th birthday, we took her to the library to cast her first ballot. Here’s hoping this is the start of a new life habit for Zoe

About the song choice: One of my favorite songs from a man with many names. John Cougar or John Cougar Mellencamp or John Mellencamp, he performs under all names. I got to see him once at Sandstone (I don’t care what it’s called today, it will always… ALWAYS… be Sandstone Amphitheater to me!) with some of my brothers. Despite the rain, he never stopped performing. We got our money’s worth with that ticket that night.
