Friday, my best friend, you are back in my life (for 24 hours). And if it’s Friday, it’s time to hear some Beach Boys music, this week from the 1980s. This week, you are going to get two songs played for the price of one. Zoe is so lucky to have a loving, caring, thoughtful father like me.
About the song choice: This was an interesting song from the Beach Boys in 1984. At the end of 1983, drummer Dennis Wilson died in a drowning accident. When the group returned to the studio in 1984, they found a new recording world with synthesizers and so many multi-tracks available to record. The lore says that at one point, Brian Wilson was trying to gather all of the guys together on one mic to get the vocals down on one recording track. It had to be explained to him that each voice could be recorded on its own track, and they would still have tracks available to use.
