November 6 – Eye of the Tiger

Getting up early in the morning can be hard. I am positive that there must be some kind of deficiency in the McMullen DNA strands that makes us allergic to all mornings. So it’s imperative that if I want to get Zoe up in the morning, the song needs to start out with a bang and keep it up for the next 3 minutes. Thankfully, Eye of the Tiger does that and then some.

About the song choice: Shout out to my college roommate Jim Moore. Back in 1991, when Super Tecmo Bowl was released for the Super Nintendo system, we set up a fantasy league in the dorm. A bunch of the guys picked our favorite team to play through the season. Jim’s choice was always the Seattle Seahawks, and he would play this song at the start of each of his games. I don’t know that it helped him play any better, but it became his signature song that year.
