November 7 – Rock and Roll To the Rescue

So as I mentioned earlier, I have proclaimed November to be 80s month. A fun challenge, with lots of songs specifically from my high school years. However, it’s a bit of a challenge for Beach Boys Fridays, as their list of releases in the 1980s was rather limited. But I think I can find a few to get us through November.

About the song choice: In 1986, the Beach Boys released (another) Greatest Hits collection titled Made in the USA. Designed to celebrate the Beach Boys’ 25th anniversary, the album featured 25 songs. Of those songs, 23 were classics from the last quarter century, some of which Zoe has already been exposed to on Fridays this school year. But there were two new recordings on this album: Rock and Roll to the Rescue, and one that you will hear later this month.
